Primary peritoneal cancer

Hi all, I am just starting my journey through all this. I am BRCA1 and have had preventative mastectomy and ovaries and tubes removed. I went to the doctors on the 21st July and it has all spiralled since. My CT scan showed multiple tumours- a couple as big as 11cm. My biopsy from lump in abdomen has come back as high grade primary peritoneal cancer but due to CT showing calcified areas - which is seen in low grade - the biopsy’s have gone off to specialist pathologist in the Hospital to decide my fate. Hopefully will hear next week and then finally meet my oncologist 8th October for a plan.

  • Welcome to the forum ChristmasT although I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

Waiting to hear what happens next must be very stressful but the Cancer Chat community are here for you and I'm sure it won't be long until some of them stop by to offer their support and advice.

You can find out more about primary peritoneal cancer on our website but if you'd like to talk any of this through before you meet with your oncologist on the 8th October, you can give our team of cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to answer your questions and support you whilst you wait.

Do let us know how you get on when you can ChristmasT. We'll be thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed your biopsy results bring good news when they come through.

    Kind regards,
