Recurring prostate cancer

I’m 75 year old fit and healthy have been diagnosed with cancer recurrence of the right peripheral zone of the prostate as well as right external iliac lymph node. After one month on orgovyx PSA has reduced from 3 down to 0.8. Anyone out there with similar diagnosis that has followed up with further radiotherapy or has had additional curative treatment with positive results. Anyone who has been in long term hormone therapy with positive outcome. I have yet to have a consultation to discuss options so would be very keen to hear of all the positive outcomes and results

thanks in anticipation

  • Hi Sparky,

Thanks for coming here and sharing your story though I am sorry to hear you have had a prostate cancer recurrence. It is impressive that after one month on Orgovyx your PSA has reduced from 3 down to 0.8.

I hope that you will hear from the experiences of others on here who have had a similar diagnosis with further radiotherapy or long term hormone therapy and had positive results. I noticed that another member posted on here about a year ago - Cancer Chat member  posted a thread about her husband's recurring prostate cancer, and mentioned at the time that his PSA had also come down significantly. I am not sure how things have progressed since then but don't hesitate to drop her a line and share your story; it can be helpful to talk to someone else who was in a similar situation a year ago and I hope that you will hear from others on here who have been on long term hormone therapy and it had a positive outcome.

Best of luck for that important consultation where you will get to discuss your options - I hope you manage to find the right treatment for you. If you wanted to talk things through with our cancer nurses, they have a free helpline you can ring on 0808 800 4040 - it is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
