Chemo side effects

I’ve been having chemo after surgery I was picked up asymptomatic during a mammography. So thankful for our NHS screening.
This seems to be the hardest part the side effects have caused me to be admitted to hospital. I have so much medication to take.

i would be grateful for any tips for nausea and diarrhoea I seem to be existing on chicken soup and anything with ginger in it

  • Hi Pollythecat,

It's incredible that the mammography picked up something when you were asymptomatic but I am sorry to hear you have suffered side effects from chemotherapy and that these even caused you to be admitted to hospital. There is a lot of useful information on our website on side effects of chemotherapy and in particular I would recommend you read our page on nausea and cancer drugs which has great tips to reduce sickness ginger being listed as one of the tips and I hope it is helping you. We also have some good tips on coping with diarrhoea

Many members of our forum will have experienced similar side effects and I hope that they will pop by to share their experiences with you and their own tips on how they managed to control these side effects.

If you would like to talk about these side effects with our cancer nurses and get their insights, you can call them on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
