Sorry to hear you are going through this.
At the moment you are in shock but this will gradually wear off and you'll get used to things and therefore maybe sleep better. Particularly when you get a treatment plan together.
You could try writing down any worries that occur during the night and saying to yourself that you'll deal with them in the morning.
Also there are plenty of very effective treatments out there and cancer is no longer the automatic death sentence that it was many years ago
The more info you get the better so talk to doctors / helpline about any questions you may have.
Treatment itself is often easier than it was in the past eg I had chemo, was given anti sickness tablets and subsequently experienced no sickness . Everyone is different though...
Then you can also look at general tips for getting a good night's sleep:
no caffeine / mobile phones / computers after a certain time
mindfulness/ breathing exercises to relax
Don't work or watch TV in your bedroom at any time
Don't nap during the day
Etc.....
Hope this helps
Let us know how you get on
You are indeed in shock. Coming here was a brave thing to do. It will help to write down how you feel and what you are thinking, on paper and on here because so many of us can empathise with you.
Thank you very much for the advice, the 1 st thing I do when I can’t sleep is open up the lap top , I will keep it closed tonight & lay off the coffee.
I think books are looked on as less impactful on sleep...,
