I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer aswell I'm 56 waiting on my MRI and then chemo surgery chemo then radiation it's a lot of information to try and absorb it's like one minute I think OK I will deal with the cards I've been dealt then I want to hide away somewhere where I won't be scared or it won't be real somehow ..Its tough really tough isn't it

It is tough I hopefully start chemo in 1to2 weeks I am so scared of having the chemo I have that first then surgery then more chemo after the information they give you is so much it made my head spin it still hasn't sank in that I got cancer but trying to stay strong and hope you stay strong to

Sounds like my journey Charlie hopefully we will remain strong although I know we will have very difficult days / months ahead I just want the chemo to be kind

I was triple negative so have to go through all the genetics tests aswell oh I know there is going to be some very hard days to come I hope your mri comes back the best it can be 

It’s all horrible but we have to hang on to the fact that most people are cleared

What stage is your cancer  ? 

I'm pretty sure 2A but obvs MRI will give us more answers my tumour is 2.7 cm so too big for lumpectomy until chemo shrinks that then surgery then chemo again then radiation it seems soo much treatments Lindyloo it's taking over my life and I've not even started yet feel like I google or you tube everything I can .Like my phone is my best friend now which was never the case 

Probably best not to look at dr Google  just stay in this forum and ask whatever you need to know from real people who understand, I know also that most of my family and friends can’t possibly understand how much it hits us ., I get answers and help  from here

Yes you are right and I will continue to seek advice from here I hope you are also able to find hope and strength from this group .We all need someone who is in similar circumstances to listen and discuss certain situations.with us.sending healing thoughts to everyone

Ieeveryone reacts differently to chemo but my personal experience was that it was by no means the horror story you hear about in the press.  They gave me various medications to counteract any side effects I might have.  They proved v successful and I certainly didn't feel sick, which was the main thing I was worried about.  I did feel tired at times but I didn't exactly feel unwell and I just rested up.  I wore the cold cap - a v Marmite experience for people, but I found it ok - so I didn't lose all my hair.

One to one counselling or the CRC helpline might help.  Good luck.  

This sounds promising I know maybe a strange word to use considering but your right one size doesn't fit all we are all different .
