Glioblastoma stage 4 post surgery

I was diagnosed after surgery on 3rd June and finding it really tough to come to terms with leaving my family.  Currently on my 2nd week of radiotherapy and chemo to give me some extra time with them.  I've not actually been able to cry, scream or express how I feel,  I'm just numb and don't know what to do. I have a very supportive husband and family.

  • Hello Nendynot1962

I'm so very sorry to hear that following a surgery last month you were told that you had a stage 4 glioblastoma. I can understand that to hear that news must have been overwhelming and it's natural that you're finding it really tough to come to terms with things. I'm glad to hear that you have the love and support of your husband and family around you.

Have you been allocated a specialist cancer nurse, Nendynot1962? I'd really encourage you to give them a ring and let them know how you're feeling. They will know what options for support are available in your local area. If you don't have a cancer nurse or you'd prefer not to talk with them then there are a number of organisations you can contact such as Maggie's or The Brain Tumour Charity, who offer a range of support options. If it would help to talk with one of our team of nurses you're welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep posting here in the Cancer Chat community if it helps to have a safe space to put down in writing how you're feeling. We're here for you Nendynot1962.

    Sending you my best wishes,
