Stage 1 non Hodgkin’s lymphoma - will be on watch and wait but I've been offered medication to help. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hello I’ve just been diagnosed with stage 1 non Hodgkin’s lymphoma after I found a lump in my neck. They want to watch and wait but I have also been offered some medication to help act as a form of suppressant? Has anyone else had this offered before?

  • Hello Mummy040399,

I am sorry to hear about your stage 1 Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma diagnosis but it is good news it is only stage 1 and that they have opted for a 'watch and wait' approach. I think it's worth looking into all your options and discussing these with your specialist. I am not sure what this medication is that you have been offered but don't hesitate to ask questions about the benefits of taking this drug and whether they definitely recommend it in your case.

Feel free to get in touch with our cancer nurses to talk things through - you can reach them on this free number 0808 800 4040 and their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Perhaps there are other members of our community who have been diagnosed with NHL before and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
