Smouldering Myeloma

Hi just had news I have smouldering multiple myeloma. I am very fit active person don’t feel sick or anything I feel fine infact and I am lucky and I do appreciate what others are going through.  so I am here only because I am confused about all this and while I wait again to find out my next steps in this journey I’m on atm I would just like to hear from anyone that’s had the same and feels like me or know of anyone.

    I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and the anxious wait you now have to find out what happens next.

    I hope this information we have about multiple myeloma will help but if you'd like to talk to one of our cancer nurses they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to answer your questions and support you on this journey.

    Hopefully some of our members who have received the same diagnosis will be along soon to share their experiences and advice but in the meantime, we're thinking of you MazzaB52 and sending all our support your way.

    Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. However there is hope.

    First of all it is just smouldering by your description and it may not progress any time soon : the doctors will monitor you on a wait and see basis. The disease will only need intervention if it progresses beyond a certain point.

    I was diagnosed about 13 years ago. I had a stem cell transplant about 12 years ago and my cancer still appears to be stable.

    Hi 

    thank you so much for your reply really helps me to make sense of it all. I am now accepting this and like you say it properly won’t turn into anything anytime Soon, if at all. I am going to try and forget, as I am not sure about telling family and friends

    Remember they will keep an eye on it so you will have regular if not frequent check ups at the hospital I think

    Ok I will prepare myself for that out come. I have been doing some research and I agree, looks like it will be that.
