Just been diagnosed with breast cancer

Hi everyone

I have just been diagnosed  breast cancer 4 days ago and having lumpectomy on the 17th June.  Was doing ok but hit a wall today I'm so scared. I have been told it's  stage 1 but if its gone into my lymph nodes it could be stage 2. I'm beating myself up at the moment as I found the lump 6 months ago and was second  guessing myself as to it actually being a lump and just forgot  about it. Noticed it again 3 weeks ago  and yes it was a lump and thats where I am now.

Hi there - just wanted to show my support as it sounds like I went though a very similar thing. Hope you're managing and this is just a message to say don't beat yourself up it's not worth the additional mental turmoil!! I was the same, I felt something a few months before my regular mammogram and thought it might be something but put it out of my mind (I was also about to get married so that played into the internal denial) I hope you're doing ok after your op and are managing to stay positive. Please reach out if you want to chat. I also have a visual diary in the from of a substack blog on the subject of illness navigating systems and the whole craziness of it all, it's meant to be funny and positive as well as poignant, if you fancy a read and think it might resonated it's here > clingfilm.substack.com/
