Aggressive kidney cancer

I had my right kidney removed in March and I was told originally that it was a grade one as it was only 5 cm

today I was told over the phone that it was indeed cancer but an aggressive cancer and I need to be referred to an oncologist and have immunotherapy and a chest CT scan

I am currently in hospital with a chronic bowel obstruction and I don’t know what to do with this information I feel completely defeated and these consultants don’t talk to each other either I’m so frustrated

I don’t know what I’m going to do as I have a daughter that I care for and I didn’t feel like I got much information as I was rather stunned when I spoke to the consultant on the phone what does he mean by aggressive? I’m sorry but I darent google

  • Hello,

sorry to read of your problems. In simple terms your cancer strain is a sprinter rather than a jogger with the potential to be mobile, hence the need for treatment and scan.Sounds like your consultant is on the ball and aiming to get you the treatment to ensure your return to full health.

Hope it all goes well for you from hereon,

     David

  • Thank you for your support David and the simple terms of your explanation

yes my consultant is very good they took my kidney out without a biopsy which they did afterwards with that result

it’s been 5 months since my last chest CT so it’s a waiting game for the results and an oncology appointment

    best wishes to you too
