My mum has colorectal cancer stage1 T3. Had surgery in December. After saying she was all clear another hospital has said there are still cancer cells present so suggested she could have radiotherapy and chemo pills for 5 weeks for 5 days each week. 
however, the side effects are mental ! 20-30 perecent chance it will come back. Single figures with treatment. However, she is 81 and not feeling great as has balance issues and fatigue. 
Has anyone had this preventive treatment on here? 
what was their experience? I m you going and trying to help her. They have talked about hip fractures, wheel chairs, doubly incontinuent and heart pains.
