Pancreatic cancer - has anyone else had issues with repeated inconclusive biopsies?

My husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two weeks before christmas 2024. He has had a stent fitted to help relieve his jaundice symptoms and was given creon for his digestion. We were told he would be given chemo before a whipple procedure.  He has had three inconclusive biopsies. We are waiting for another scan to see if there are any changes, as doctors are now querying whether it may not be cancer but pancreatitis. There was definitely a mass on the head of the pancreas. We feel like we are in limbo, just waiting for any definitive outcome. Has anyone else had issues with repeated inconclusive biopsies.

  • Hello Bongolio,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat.

I can understand how you and your husband must be feeling and I'm sure our members will reach out to share their experiences with you. Waiting for a definitive answer can feel like an odd and nerve-wracking time, but there is guidance available on our website around coping with waiting for news. I hope this will be useful in the meantime and that your doctors can get to the bottom of it soon.

    All the best,
