PSA rise after prostate removed

Hi I had my prostate removed 2 years ago. Since then my PSA has slowly risen and I’ve just had a PET CT scan. It’s showed 2 areas of suspicion in a rib and in the pelvis. I’ve been booked in to see an oncologist so yet to find out for sure but I feel I know what’s coming. I have no symptoms of anything wrong and I am very fit and healthy and have a very active lifestyle. I’m in my late 50s. I’m angry that it’s taken the nhs 2 years to decide to look into my PSA rise. It seems so reactive as to taking a proactive approach. Urology have said I will most likely have sabr radiotherapy to help control the spread. Has anyone else had this and what side effects did they have if any? Thanks
