  • Hi. I had those plus another chemo drug last summer to November but the other way round.  2 lots of cisplatin with daily radiotherapy then brachytherapy followed by 4 sessions of carbonation and paclitaxil. I was told cisplatin would likely make me sick...especially as was very sick during pregnancies. I was in hospital for 9 to 10 hours each time as had cold cap as well. Good luck with this next part of your treatment.  X

    Hi jo

thanks for reply I had the carbo and paclitel first . I wore cold cap for them which luckily saved my hair but I asked if I could wear cold cap for cisplacin but was told no as it didn’t work with cisplacin I was bit ped of to be honest as I thought what was point of wearing through the first lot etc . I will have brachytherapy after this lot how did you find it ? X

Yes I was told the same..consultant didn't even mention cold cap. It was the chemo ward who asked if I wanted to do it. I found the cold cap painful but have only lost a little hair and it's not really noticeable so wig is still in its box! Had 2 lots of brachytherapy...first one was fine..the second one felt more uncomfortable. Hope it all goes well for you x
