My breast surgeon told me that the remaining breast tissue can be manipulated so that there can be little difference from the other breast. I had a three and a half centimetre tumour removed from the upper outer quadrant of my left breast last May and there is no dent! The pain, or rather the discomfort, was less than I anticipated and I soon came off the codeine and paracetamol tablets I was issued with. Please do not worry.
Thank you! this sounds very reassuring. Didn’t think to ask about the cosmetic stuff at my initial appointment and haven’t see the surgeon yet so was worried it would leave a crater!
I had wide incision with nipple removal for 2cm tumour. I like to describe my boob as a purse with a zip across the front. I have a slight shape change and the obvious missing nipple.
I had a 9mm wide excision just before Christmas and have a scar under my breast to the side. There is a little dent but nothing to warrant a prosthesis- I am back to wearing normal bras and my boobs look the same. The surgeons are very good at making the best outcome
I hadn’t thought about my nipple .
Where exactly was your tumour if you don’t mind me asking? Was it underneath the nipple area?
Hi there
it was close to the milk ducts so I had nipple and areola removed. I wasn’t that proud of my boobs before but it is a bit weird that they don’t match now
