Vaginal biopsy booked - scared

Hi  I am booked for a biopsy for suspected mucosal melanoma. I know they give local anaesthetic but how sore will I be afterwards?

They suggest paracetamol but its useless for me. Codeine constipates so not the best choice with stitches. Any suggestions?
