Treatment dilemma

Hi all,

After treatment for prostate cancer seven years, a recent rise in PSA  meant a lot of scans to find the recurrence.

After six months of scans, prostate cancer was  found in my bladder.  i have been offered either hormone treatment of the removal of my prostate and bladder under a  'salvage cystectomy.'

The surgeon consultant  went through both options but told me hormone would only stop if for a while and that the cancer would definitely come back. He recommended that I choose the surgery as he said that was likely to get rid of it.

I said I was minded at this stage, to opt for surgery.

I was given hope of  an alternative of paying for private SABR radiotherapy (not available on the NHS) but  after seeing the pre-treatment scans , my consultant decided they couldn't be sure targeting all of the cancer due to it's awkward position at the base of the bladder.

So, we're back to the dilemma of hormone therapy or major op.

Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar position.

Wishing everyone well.
