Delaying radioactive iodine treatment

I'm 40 and was result diagnosed with thyroid cancer I have had the surgery and been told I need to radioactive iodine.

Only problem is we have doing IVF and get the treatment in two weeks.

Just wondered if anyone else has delayed getting the iodine doctor would give us a straight answer on risks a delaying. But surgeon said it would be fine.

I'm very confused

Mine was delayed about two months due to a global pandemic. And well, so far I haven't had a recurrence.

If the IVF worked it would be more like 10 month.

The thyroid surgeon was happy for me to go ahead but the iodine consultant I saw yesterday wasn't very helpful.

My head just all over the place as I was told I just had a swollen left thyroid told I didn't need surgery. Went private and made them do it to find out it was cancer and 4 weeks later had to get the other side out so my faith in the medical system is not very good just now.
