I am very worried. I have had basal cells before but not any squamous CC. I just don’t know how things will pan out or what to do.

Welcome to the forum AVSLondon although I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with SCC.
Hopefully some of our members who have had SCC will share their experiences and advice with you soon, but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all that they can to help.
We're here for you AVSLondon and sending all our support your way.
Kind regards,

Hi AVS
The treatment for Skin Squamous Cell Cancer is much the same as for Basal Cell Cancer which you already have had. So you get surgery to remove the lesion, the wound gets stitched together and if all goes well that's it. If the wound is too big to stitch together you will get a skin graft which means a bit of skin will be taken from your thigh (usually) or neck or side of face and covers the wound. The piece removed is sent to the lab to make sure that all the SCC has been removed, and it usually is, as an extra margin is taken from around the visible lesion.
Important - it is very likely you have more areas of sun damaged skin. Protect you skin from further damage by using factor 50 sunscreen on exposed skin all year round, cover up in sunny weather, hat, long sleeves, trousers jeans, skirt. Do not sunbathe or using tanning salons. I cannot emphasize this enough or you will be having repeated surgery in future. I have a long history (30 years) of skin cancer and now having immunotherapy as I have run out of options. Taking good care of your skin will prevent you ending up where I an now.
