Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum Gorms, although I'm sorry to hear you've just been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer.
Finding out you have cancer will bring about so many thoughts and emotions, so I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that there is no right or wrong way to feel as everyone deals with a cancer diagnosis in their own way. I'm sure some of our members will stop by when they can to tell you this themselves and to offer their support and advice as well, but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are usually open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m but will be closed over the next two weeks on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
