I've just had the results back from a mole removal which has confirmed it's cancerous.
I now have to go in for a wider excision and then wait for those results. I'm 54.
How have people coped with the uncertainty in this period?
Thanks!

I had exactly the same experience. The wide excision eas done under a local anasthetic and was no problem. It is difficult not to worry about the outcome. I think the best thing is to try to keep occupied. I have found jigsaw puzzles very therapeutic.they require concentration but it doesn’t matter if you do something wrong.
Hi Fast8ike,
I'm very recently diagnosed with a melanoma, so I understand exactly how you feel. Suddenly, although physically, you feel exactly the same as you did yesterday, your world has been turned upside down, and the future seems very worrying.
I don't know where you are, but if you have been given the contact details of a Macmillan Nurse, talk to them. Mine is absolutely brilliant. She has access to my notes and can explain things to me. When you see the doctor, there is so much to take in, and it's only later that you think of all the questions you wanted to ask.
Best wishes xx
