I may be referred to SMALL clinical trial to remove small breast cancer

My mind is racing ahead and I realise that I am pretty fortunate all things considered however I found out yesterday that I’m likely to have small area of breast cancer. Now awaiting biopsy results. I’ve been told if it is confirmed I may be suitable for a clinical trial to remove under local anaesthetic using vacuum assisted procedure. It would be followed by possibly radiotherapy and hormone treatment. I suffer really bad night sweats post menopause  which I now control with Veoza (non hormone treatment). I’m really scared of the potential side effects of Tamoxifen.  Does anyone have experience

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Understandably this is a worrying time for you. 

    We do have some information about the SMALL trial on our website that you might find helpful. 

    It's understandable that you may have concerns and questions about any hormonal medication that is recommended for you. It's important to remember that not everyone experiences side effects when taking Tamoxifen or AIs. It's possible that you may manage very well on the medication. However, I'd really encourage you to talk with your breast care team about your concerns. Hopefully, they will be able to reassure you about your options should you decide that Tamoxifen is not the right path for you.

    I’m 2 years on tamoxifen side affects didn’t start until we’ll after a year 

    I hate the drug it’s absolutely awful the side affects are awful I gained weight and got every single side affects of these tabkets 

    im sirry if it sounds awful but I needed to tell you the truth as you asked
