Hi LilyStoneWood I have anal cancer in my second week of treatment at the moment. Don't feel embarrassed there's nothing to be embarrassed about but if you find it easier just say you have cancer and leave it there it's no one's business but yours what type you have and its up to you who you tell. I know some people just say they have colrectoral cancer (ive spelt that wrong) but I think that kind of covers it. Here if you want to ask anything. Sending hugs. Xx

Hi Flexme is the surgery to remove the tumour? I didn't have surgery. I'm having 5.5 weeks radiotherapy 5 days a week and 5 days chemo at beginning and end of treatment. I understand all the feelings you are probably having just try to stay busy with things you enjoy and take one day at a time. Sending hugs. Xx

Me again, meant to say if you post on macmillan forum it's split into all the different cancers so you may find someone on there who just had surgery. But I'm happy to answer anything I can. X

Yes it's to remove but I have a leasion too I'm just worried it's going to be worse than they think after all scans and tests already I just can't sleep headaches are horrendous I lost my sister last ur I'm just scared to death xx

Im sorry about your sister. Everybody is different but as far as I know anal cancer is a curable one. I was told probably just surgery and some mop up chemo to start with but after all my scans they changed their minds on the surgery as they didn't think they would get clear margins. Have they told you what grading? X

And grading does that mean stages they have said im 1st and no need to worry but my sister was fine in 7 months I can't help but worry xx

As I understand it margins means they have to remove a certain amount of healthy tissue around the tumour. Yes stages and stage one is the best. I know its really hard but you must try to stay positive and try to get some sleep, everything is better with sleep ( says me still up at stupid o'clock ). XX

Hello my daughter has bum cancer as she puts it, she is just 26 with a 3 year old..Stage 3, she starts aggressive chemo next Wednesday for 3 months.  Going to be really tough on her. 

It must be so difficult for your daughter and so younger with a 3 year old. Yes it will be difficult but sounds like you are a great support.

I am going to do my best and be there for them both x

Ì too have a two yr old in December  and I believe that's were my fear comes from mainly having young children makes everything harder xx

I agree it's nice nit to feel so alone and i completely understand the embarrassing comment I'd never heard of it b4 myself and health issues helped me find out i had it and health issues are the reason I'm scared when it comes to treatment I guess its a day to day thing x

It is scary especially with a little one.  It’s the fear of not knowing what to expect.  My daughter is coping better than me x

I had never heard of it either and still shocked I have it, keep hoping it's a bad dream. Day to day and sometimes hour to hour. My poor husband had only just got his 5 year cancer clear and then this happens. I hope when I have my surgerey then can take it all away. 

Yes if it’s early stage then surgery is sometimes all that is needed.
