CUP diagnosis

Hi

My ex husband has just been diagnosed as having CUP following a routine checkup which showed his blood pressure being high. After X-rays and blood tests it’s showing signs in his lungs but they don’t know the primary source so can’t treat it yet.
We have two grown up children, a boy and girl. Our son is married and is utterly devastated and in a dreadful state. Our daughter lives with me still and feels the same but has gone to work for a distraction but is constantly messaging me.
My ex (we get on very well now), doesn’t feel unwell particularly apart from having painful hips which we put down to age and abuse when being in the forces.
We don’t know what to do. We are playing a waiting game at the moment waiting for news of further tests or treatments but we are becoming more frustrated as naturally we want him to be seen immediately to be given some chance.

I did the wrong thing and googled it and it says patients with CUP don’t tend to survive past 12 months!

Any advice or help would be so welcome at the moment.
