Do you go to ED or just wait for appointments if in pain

I’ve been recently diagnosed with colon and liver cancer and have first appointment with specialist next week I also have a benign tumour which is causing the pain they say. I can tell the difference each day and only way I can describe is like when you have a baby and feel it moving that’s what it feels like in liver area since biopsy not sure if this is normal and I should just wait for appointment or go to ED. Hospital said pain can come for weeks after biopsy has anyone experienced this? What do they do for patients if we go ED?

  • Hello lappinsasha

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and that you're struggling with pain management at the moment.

You mentioned in your post that you have an appointment with the specialist this week. Hopefully they will be able to help with a better pain management regime when you see them but if in the meantime you don't feel able to wait, do contact your GP or NHS 111 out-of-hours for support and advice on the best way forward.

I hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
