Non hogkins follicular lymphoma returns

So in 2016 after chemo and autograph stem cell transplant,  I was back to living life again,  it was a long journey but I got there.

A few weeks ago I notices my groin lymph node was swollen,  but I'm used to this happening when I have an infection anyway so I wasn't too overly worried.

I did go and see my gp who thought it may be a blood clot, but it wasn't . I was referred back to my heamotology consultant who ran various tests and it was confirmed that what was a low grade before has now returned and is high grade.

Next step is to recieve treatment my consultant wanted to use Car T treatment but unfortunately as I've only had 1 previous RChop I am not eligible yet, so I need to go through another chemo treatment.

At moment I've taken sick absence from my work,  I'm wondering if the side effects will be the same as previously and has anyone had the Car T treatment.

  • Hi Petalgarden,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear this and I hope that you are getting on OK.

I can see there are a few other discussions on here about Car T - you can use the search bar at the top of the page to find these, if you would like to. My reply here will also give your post a little boost, so a few more people should see it, and hopefully you'll get some more replies.

Do discuss with your doctor any questions or concerns you have about the side effects, or anything else.

I hope that this forum can be of some help to you at this time - we are always here if you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
