Shedding Hair and Cold Capping

Hello

I am due my second chemo next week (second of six) and contemplating whether to continue with cold capping as during the past few days my hair is shedding like mad and parts of my scalp feel sore.

Do I persevere or not. Cold capping adds 2 hours to the treatment.

Anyone who has experienced this I would be most grateful for your thoughts as I am in two minds.

    I had my first paclitaxel yesterday and couldn’t stand the cold cap for that long, I had it on for about 4 hours but had the most excruciating head ache so had to give up. I think that’s me done, probably going to shave this weekend.. feeling sad and defeated :(

    Hi

    Had hair cut short yesterday as could not stand my second cold capping. My hair look dead was brittle and coming out in handfuls so did not work for me plus headaches were horrendous.

    Feel good about making the decision. Even if hair was not coming out I could not put up with the brittle dead lifeless looking hair and would have ended up putting a wig over the top.

     I bought a wig a few weeks ago and wore it today. I am going to have it cut a little shorter and some weight taken out of it. So much you can do with a decent wig.

    Don’t be disheartened.
