Prostate Cancer Chemo

Hi

9 years on this journey and still no symptoms.

Radical, then lymph nodes in groin were removed then radiotherapy. The little blighter have returned again in the same place as radiotherapy so moving into chemo.

No date confirmed yet. Thankfully not in bones or organs.

is anyone here going through chemo now and happy to chat through their experience?

From letter received today it will be another month before we drs again and am anxious regarding delay.

  • Hello icenasluce,

It has been a long journey for you - 9 years already and you have already been through a lot with radiotherapy, lymph nodes removed and now being told you need to have chemotherapy. I hope that you won't have to wait too long to start treatment. Our website has useful information on prostate cancer including on treatment for prostate cancer. It's good news though that it hasn't spread to bones or organs.

I thought I would share with you too our general information on chemotherapy to help you prepare ahead of your treatment and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ring our cancer nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and who are going through or have been through chemotherapy before. I will let them come and say hello and share their story with you.

Best of luck for your treatment and I hope that you will be able to start it without any delays.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
