What surgery did you have if you don’t mind me asking and when was it? I hope you are recovering well 

It was a lobectomy on 17th April (right lower lobe).

My tumor is also in my right lower lobe! Did you get the date for surgery when you met the surgeon? So glad to hear you are recovering well!! Hoping it continues to go smoothly 

Also, did you take time off before the surgery or just after? 

Snap! The surgeon said that surgery would be done in 4 or 5 weeks after our appointment. Thr actual date was given by letter in the post.

I have the luxury of being retired! So no need to take time off....

I am 26 and very early in my career. I’ve been taking days off for appointments and the odd day here and there. So just don’t want to look bad. An emotional rollercoaster is an understatement!! I think I just need to take some time off to really wrap my head around it and what’s ahead etc. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions, especially for someone you don’t know, I really appreciate it!

Goodness - you're far too young to have cancer. I'm so sorry.

Whatever you do, make sure you're fit before the surgery as you will have a better recovery.
