Diagnosed with womb cancer stage 1 - what happens next?

Hi all,

Very new to this so please forgive me if I waffle on!
so I’m 37 and have today been diagnosed with stage 1 womb cancer (not what you expect on a sunny Tuesday morning) call was very rushed abs told to come to hospital as soon as I could so had to drop everything so anxiety was through the roof before I even got there.

Im feeling very anngy  and very all over the place I know I only had the diagnosis today but I have so many things running round my head.
my mri is in the process of being booked however been told

it could take 2 weeks for appointment just makes me feel Sick and then a further 2 weeks before I am contacted regarding treatment going forward. I’m not scared of having my entire womb taken away in fact I embrace it as I have suffered for many years with my periods only to be pushed form pillar to post with regards to Diagnosing anything so feeling very let down.
anyone give me some words of wisdom as to what to expect next and going forward would be great fully received.
Thanks

Alana

  • Hi there, I’m reaching out, not sure if I can help but I’m going through the diagnosis myself, noticed something wasn’t right, was taken to A&E with the most horrific pelvic pain last week, urgent referral to gynae on Monday, I have no idea what to expect. I have an overian cyst, fibroid and polyp, they are all quite big which are causing the pain and cramps. Today my CA125 blood test has come back with significant high markers.

like you I’m so worried at the next steps, but trying to remain positive.

there are steps the Consultants need to take to make the right decisions but it’s terrible waiting game for us on the other end.

it’s good to have this chat as support. Not sure if I’ve been much help but seems as though we are going through similar things.

    Hiya

yeah it’s a waiting game isn’t it. Just can’t get my head round being 37 and diagnosed with cancer has turned my world upside down. Iv know for years something wasn’t rite but just kept being told my symptoms where due to me being overweight.

inam very thank full though that I have had all the tests done just waiting for mri appointment now to see if it’s spread and then treatment plan will be put in place.

this chat group is useful as makes you feel like your not on your own doesn’t it.

I’ve only joined today, but I can see there are some inspirational chats going on, I’m in the very early stages of diagnostics, I haven’t had a diagnosis but I’m sure I’ll find out more when I have an appointment on Monday.
