Rectal Cancer

I have recently had surgery to remove my rectum because of a diagnosis of rectal cancer. I now have low calcium levels in my blood. Is this an indication that my cancer has spread elsewhere in my body; to my bones or lung perhaps?

  • Hi David41,

Unfortunately it is difficult to get this sort of question answered here, as really only your doctor can advise on this. You are welcome to post in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum to get a reply from one of our nurses, but again they are not able to diagnose or provide a medical opinion.

If you have questions or concerns about this, do speak to your doctor when you can.

    Wishing you all the best,
