That's awful! I don't understand how your doctor can say you have incurable lung cancer without you having tests/biopsy. And to say that over the phone is not normal procedure. I hope one of the moderators answers this. Also maybe phone the number for the Macmillan nurses on this site to get more information than I can give. I'd be so angry if I'd been informed like that. It really doesn't sound right.

REALLY !!!! Regarding myself I had telephone consultations over the phone regarding pet scans but never ever was I told I had cancer my diagnosis was confirmed by a consultant in his office !!! 

I'm sorry to hear this, my mum was told over the phone also, on the 14th of March this year. It left us in total shock and distress. I'm sorry this has happened to you too. 

That is totally unexceptable I can't believe that happened  !!!! I seriously would complain 

Same happened to us too . Totally wrong to tell someone on the phone . Have considered putting in a complaint but I'm sure it will go nowhere
