ER and PR Negative but HER Positive

Hi

Received my results today. Waiting on whether I was Herceptin neg or pos - I am HER positive and ER PR negative.

My treatment will consist of 7 chemotherapy sessions which I will receive every 3 weeks along with a drug called Phesgo.

Consultant said I am Stage II Grade III, but I was so blinded by what she said I could not ask any questions, particularly the one we all want to know - am I going to live. My question to you lovely people is, has anyone else had the treatment planned for me and how did you feel.

Thank you

  • Hello Sandradee,

Thank you for coming here and sharing your results with us. It's good you know what your treatment plan will be and I hope that the chemotherapy sessions will go well. There is information on our website on Trastuzumab and pertuzumab (the combination of these drugs as an injection is called Phesgo) and the Macmillan site also has detailed information on Phesgo

It's often the case that during an important consultant appointment we tend to forget the questions we meant to ask as there is so much to take in so don't worry this is something they will be used to and will have encountered before. Perhaps you could get in touch with your consultant's secretary or drop them a line and explain that you meant to ask some questions and if they could tell you more and explain things to you. Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you would like to talk things through with them. Their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I also wanted you to know that you are not alone and I've come across several other members of our community who have taken Phesgo before. If you do a forum search by typing in 'Phesgo' in the search bar located at the top, you will see all past relevant threads related to this treatment and feel free to respond to any. There is for example  's Phesgo Success thread you are welcome to have a look at and reply to if you wish to do so.

Best of luck with the start of your treatment and I hope that you will hear from others who have previously embarked on a similar treatment journey.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Sandradee

Im so sorry for your diagnosis. Hope you are holding up. Just wanted to reach out as I have just been diagnosed with stage 2 grade 3 breast cancer so we are in a similar boat! Mine is HER2 positive but also oestrogen and progesterone positive so maybe our treatment plans will be a little different but maybe similar too? If you want to get in touch please do xxx

  • Hello

Thank you for reaching out. I am interested to know what your treatment will be as you are positive to all 3 to my HER positive. When do you start your treatment.

I am happy to keep you posted regarding my treatment which I start on Wednesday with ER chemo first. I am also going to give cold capping a go.

    Best wishes
