Breast Cancer - Anyone had a similar journey?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar journey to mine?...

I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in February.

I had a lumpectomy & sentinel node biopsy, which showed the tumour was 43mm, and the sentinel node had cancer but was HER2 negative.

I then had an axillary clearance, which showed no more cancer but HER2 positive.

The plan is chemo, radiotherapy and tablets.

What can I expect?

  • Hello Nannie_Poppins and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to hear you were diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year but I'm glad you now know what treatment you'll be having, and hopefully it will get underway soon.

We do have a lot of breast cancer members within our community, so I'm sure those who have had a similar diagnosis and are on the same pathway as you will be along soon to share their experiences and advice, but if you have any questions about your diagnosis that you'd like to discuss with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all that they can to help.

We're here for you Nannie_Poppins and wishing you all the best with your treatment.

    Kind regards,
