I'm sorry to hear that you're currently waiting for news about a possible mastectomy and reconstruction. It's understandable that you want to be as informed as possible before making a decision about the type of reconstruction you would prefer. 

Hopefully some of the members who have had reconstruction will reply to share their experiences with you but in the meantime, you may want to use the forum search function to read through some previous posts. I'd suggest searching for the term "DIEP" (this is reconstruction using tissue from your abdominal area) and then also searching for the term "implant". Both these searches will bring up quite a few posts that you can read through in your own time. 

We also have some information on our website about breast reconstruction that you may find helpful. If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to offer any information and support they can along with helping you think about any questions you might want to asl at your next appointment.
