Hello, my name is Kirsten, and my mum Layla has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma cancer of the brain on Wednesday 1st may.
She is only 46 years old and this has come as a big shock to us all as just over 5 weeks ago she was diagnosed with a Vestibular Schwannoma tumor (non cancerous) and that was a shock. So to hear that it has mutated into a very aggressive cancer in 5 weeks is wild.
I myself am 26 years old and live over 500 miles away in Scotland. She has already started treatment and had her first round of chemotherapy on the Wednesday she was told and her second round today. I know these next few months are going to be difficult and she is going to get a lot sicker, I want to brace myself for the months ahead and will take any advice or suggestions to help support her in any way.
I would love to go straight to her and move it to care for her but I still have bills to pay as that doesn’t stop just because your world falls apart.
thank you for reading.
