  • Hello Lioness680,

A big welcome to our forum and I am sorry to hear you have just been diagnosed with womb cancer . I think today might be the day when you have your MRI scan and I hope that will go well and that you won't have to wait long for the results. It's completely normal for your emotions to be all over the place after the shock of finding out and to feel like you can't think straight. This is something many of our members will have experienced before and I hope that you will hear from their own experiences of being diagnosed with womb cancer.

It's a very difficult time of uncertainty for you as you have been given a diagnosis but without yet knowing all the details as you are awaiting the MRI scan results and find out more about your treatment plan too. I can imagine this is hard for your daughters and I hope that talking to your oncology nurse next week will be helpful and alleviate your anxiety a little. Make sure you write down any question that springs to your mind to ask the nurse at your appointment next week - you are bound to have a lot of questions at the moment but if you're feeling like you can't think straight, it can be easy sometimes to then just forget what you meant to ask during the appointment so it can be useful to write things down and have all your questions to hand.

Poor you having to deal with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis as well - I hope these conditions are under control and that you are not in too much pain. Everything will feel a bit of a blur for you at the moment, like it is not real as you said. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone and I hope that you will meet others here who have also been diagnosed with womb cancer. I had a little look for you on the forum and found for example    's recent womb cancer thread - this member's mum was also diagnosed with womb cancer recently (and has other health issues including rheumatoid arthritis) so don't hesitate to drop her a line and share your story if you wish to do so.

Our cancer nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you would like to get in touch with them and ask them any questions or simply talk things through with them - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you will feel a little better soon once you get a bit more clarity on your diagnosis and what the treatment steps will be. We're all here for you anytime you need to talk! Let us know how you get on if you get a chance and what you find out after you get your MRI results.

    Best wishes,
