Did anyone have robotic assisted surgery for ovarian cancer?

How did it go and where did you have it done?

  • Hi boohoo123

I have 2 robotic assisted procedures. The first one was to remove a large cyst from my ovary back in November (which was then found to be cancerous) and am now recovering from second surgery which was also robotic - total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophrectomy and omentum removal which I had just under 3 weeks ago.

Both surgeries went well and the recoveries have been ok. Happy to answer any questions :)

  • Hey thanks so much for your reply. Where did you have them done and which dr?

  • Hi, I'm don't think we are allowed to name on here, but I am in the Midlands x

  • Hi, mine was done in December, full robotic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo om. And omentum removal, also done in the Midlands, I'm between two hospitals but have no complaints,  I was on a 2w rule and rushed through, although strikes were an issue.  About to have 2nd chemo this week.  Surgery was 2nd to none and aftercare too.  So glad it was done this way, scaring is just 6 small stars like crosses, my own sky!!  I am sure you will be in safe hands and the hospital stay is 24 to 48 hrs, depending on blood loss from the drain.  You will be fine, just need to take it easy for a while.  Hope this helps x
