Uterine cancer

Diagnosed with uterine cancer a week ago, and now waiting on the biopsy results before I start treatment.  8cm x 6cm x 5cm mass in posterior of womb, with a possibility of a 3cm mass on urethra.

Anyone else?  How are you coping?  The waiting is stress on another level!

  • Hi, I know exactly how you feel.  I  found all the waiting really stressful, but at each stage there is more waiting so it is something that you start getting used to but it doesn't make it any easier for you.  Trying to keep mentally well I found hard but it is important, to keep strong.  I  was initially diagnosed as endometrial/Uterine and cervical cancer and had a full hysterectomy late December.  Chemotherapy followed, I am 2 weeks in now and coping.  All of the medical help and surgery has been second to none, so no complaints here.  I don't have the same diagnosis as you, but my diagnosis changed after biopsies but understand where you are.  Things will move on quickly, days do  feel like weeks!!!  Don't be afraid to chase if you are stressed, After MDT meetings for an update.  All the stress in the meantime is hard to cope with, you would not be human if it did not stress you out but you do get there and treatment will start. I  feel am coping well, but have wobbles at different stages, this last week I have struggled with my identity, I don't look the same without hair, and don't have many mirrors in the house but noticed in one and as my hair used to be so long, struggled a bit.  Fine now, but forced menopause doesn't help I suppose, maybe I'm just a bit sensitive!!!  I hope my words on part of my experience help you, but if you have any questions,  however personal, whatever worries you,  don't worry, please ask and I can share my experiences, if it helps. x
