I have been diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer and am about to start treatment.
The recommended approach by my oncologist is total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) which, as I understand it, means chucking everything at the tumour to shrink it as much as possible before even attempting surgery.
I am starting with 3 months of chemo (FOLFOX), probably followed by chemo-radiotherapy, then probably surgery, then possibly even more chemo...
It sounds like a slog but obviously I am grateful that it is treatable and that the team looking after me have been really great so far.
Just wondering if anyone has already been through (or is going through) this regime and has any experiences to share. I am starting on Monday and feeling quite nervous.
