Womb cancer diagnosis

Hello all,

I was told I have womb cancer two weeks ago, I’m 36 and feeling very worried about the next few weeks/months. I had my pre assessment today with the surgery likely to be the last week of February.
This has come about 7 ish years after first finding what was called pre-cancer cells during the process of fertility treatment for the second time. I’m very lucky to have had one son in 2012 but my wish for more children was never achieved. And now I must have a full hysterectomy including both ovaries, thus putting me straight into the menopause.
This is worrying me so much let alone the thought of further treatment for the cancer.
Any advice from anyone else who’s been in my position would be great.
Thank you

  • Hello.. not sure if I can be of any help xx I went through this in 21, stage 1a grade 3 endometrial, full hysterectomy everything taken at 57,

  • Hi

Im currently in quite a similar position to yourself. I had a hysteroscopy just before Christmas and was recalled in early January. I have been diagnosed with atypical endometrial hyperplasia. It’s been recommended that I have a hysterectomy. I had a CT scan last week and am currently awaiting the results to see if I have cancer elsewhere. I am also being tested to see if I have Lynch syndrome.

its likely I’ll be having a full hysterectomy so will have the menopause issues like yourself. I’m about to turn 50 so I would be hitting menopause anyway but still scary.

its all a bit terrifying so i understand what you are going through.
