Scared

I have an appointment with the oncologist tomorrow after being diagnosed with breast cancer cells in a lymph node. My original cancer was almost 22 years ago.

I am so scared and dreading the worst. I can't sleep or stop crying. I am convinced it is everywhere. How on earth do people cope with secondary disease and all its implications?

I just want to scream my head off.

  • Have you got lymphoma or breast cancer? Or has it spread to your lymp nodes? I like you had hodgkins lymphoma 20 yesrs ago and was resently diagnosed with non hedgkins lymphoma high grade ( aggressive) stage 2. If you have lymphoma it is easily curable.

It takes sticking to the facts and not let your mind run away with you. (Difficult)

Let me know if you have seen the oncologist and whst he said. Good luck

  • Thanks for your reply. It's breast cancer in the lymph node. I had a mastectomy and chemo in 2002. I really thought I was ok now.

Sorry about your news too. Wishing you luck too.

  • I carry on regardless. Not scared of dying. Just don't want to. Thanks. Death is a moment of change after which we know nothing. Like  falling into a deep sleep. If you are scared it is fear of life or the unknown.

What a disappointment for you on the return of your cancer. Hang in there. Having an attitude help, so you can fight it.

  • Hi I'm in a similar situation,  I had double Mastectomy in 2019 and they found cancer in the tissue removed from my right side,  previously I had a lumpectomy after a lump in my left breast, both times had chemotherapy and then found a lump the week before Christmas,  went for biopsy day after boxing day,  got my results on the 15th of January when they said it was grade 3 triple negative breast cancer,  I then went for a ct scan after which they told me last week that it's metastatic and I can't be cured only treated,  it's so hard to accept I've been crying all the time,  thinking about my partner,  children and little grandchildren,  I've been looking at helping myself through what I  eat, I've totally cut sugar out. You're completely not alone in how you feel its a horrible situation to be in. Sending prayers and positive thoughts xx

  • I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope there are good treatment options for you. Sending much love. X

  • I know what I am going to say will feel I don't understand but now is the time to make memories with your family and friends. Take time to give them love and have fun by which they can remember you and which you can remember until the end.

So sorry to hear. Will pray for you.
