BCC on my forehead

Approx 1 year ago I developed what initially appeared to be a spot on my forehead a couple of inches below my hairline. It was diagnosed as a bcc in October and I was given an appointment at the minor surgery clinic at my health centre for it to be removed 3 weeks later. However at that appointment the doctor said he wouldn't remove it, for risk of damaging my facial nerve. He referred me to hospital as an urgent case and I was told I would have a 3 month wait. My BCC is growing rapidly, stings deep inside my forehead and is very itchy and as time goes on the blood vessels in it are getting bigger and bright red. I've offered to take a cancellation if one becomes available. Has anyone else has a rapidly growing one on the forehead? And how big will the scar be in relation to the bcc size? Thanks for anything you can share about a similar bcc!

  • Hello Fee,

I am sorry to hear that your BCC is growing rapidly and is stinging and itchy. 3 months is quite a long time to have to wait but you did well to offer to take up a cancellation if one becomes available. I hope that you will not have to wait too long to be seen as it sounds like this is getting a little uncomfortable to you.

I hope that you will hear from the experiences of other members of our community who have had a rapidly growing BCC on their forehead and that they will be happy to share their experience with you and tell you more about how big their scar was.

Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you have any questions - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Best of luck for the BCC removal - I hope it will happen soon and that you won't have to wait too long to be seen.

    Best wishes,
