Cancer diagnosis

Going for my results tomorrow after lung bronchoscopy and biopsy, CT scan, x-ray, PET scan and lung function test, I've not verbally been told cancer diagnosis but I'm aware it is cancer in my lung and possibly if it's spread, my mind can't stop thinking about it and I'm petrified of the diagnosis tomorrow

  • Hello Otaner

I just wanted to post to ask how you got on at your results appointment yesterday. I do hope that the team was able to give you some reassurance about the next steps.

If there's anything you'd like to talk through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn I've been diagnosed with inoperable and incurable lung cancer,  I am waiting for oncology appointment they say I might be put on a tablet targeted chemotherapy, it's not really sunk in Jenn, yesterday they also removed fluid from my lungs as I was in a bit of pain, but honestly I'm petrified

  • Hello Otaner

I'm really sorry to hear that news. It's a lot to take on board and understandable that you are feeling petrified.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the oncology appointment but in the meantime, if you want to talk with someone, do give our nurses a call. I included their contact details in my previous post.

Hopefully the discomfort from yesterday's procedure will settle but take things easy today and don't push yourself to do too much.

I hope that you have some support around you from family and friends.
