Moving on

I had lumpectomy and radiotherapy for grade 1 breast cancer last April and take anastrozole.  At same time my husband had to have emergency pacemaker so that was a very tough time. I was taking fluoxetine  but came off them in August and my mood has been very  low again  so my Dr. has put me back on them . My first year mammogram and check up is due soon which is making me jittery. Does anyone find they just don't want to plan anything. As much as I know a holiday is probably what I need. Something just holds me back from a holiday or any commitments without getting upset. I just want to stay put. Anyone else feel that way.   Jan

  • I think it's completely understandable to be feeling like this in the run up to your first mammogram and check up Jan, especially with everything else that has happened during this time as well, so if you can, try not to be too hard on yourself for how you are feeling at the moment.

I'm sure some of our members who have been in this position will share their thoughts and advice with you soon but in the meantime we're thinking of you and hope all goes well with your check up.

Hopefully once it's all done and dusted you can finally relax and then treat yourselves to some time away.

    Kind regards,

  • Thank you Steph so much for your lovely response.  It is so reassuring to get support like this. I don't like to  keep on blaming the anastrozole for how I am  feeling and coping but I am sure they are a contributing factor.  Thank you again it's nice to know someone understands. X Jan
