Hi I've always suffered with sore throats and around two years ago was convinced I had something wrong as I was having sore throats weekly. I was sent to ENT and the lady was a bit rude saying I knew you didn't need to he here, she had students in and removed large tonsil stones which is a daily issue for me. I asked her if they could remove the tonsils as that might be causing the content pain and she said no we don't do that anymore unless it's a risk of cancer.
Fast forward 2 years of constant pain and battling tonsil stones and bleeding I noticed a rough white patch on the roof of my mouth on the soft pallet. I went to the GP about this and explained to him I've not been right since being thrown out of the ENT department as due to that have not really come to him for sore throat issues as I was ashamed.
Anyhow having looked at this patch in my throat he sent me to a specialist who looked at it and requested I go get a biopsy done. He did state he did not think it was cancer but would send me anyhow to see if we could identify what it was. Two days ago I got my biopsy after waiting from December which I don't mind as long as it's done now. On doing the procedure the nurse said of its very superficial may not need stitches. However when they finished the procedure they had to put in 7 stitches and whenni saw the lump it looked like a baby tooth with blood on it. I'm guessing it would be hard white material.i was seeing.
The thing is I've not told anyone as I don't want to bother them and I feel guilty coming on here with you all having been diagnosed and I'm possibly OK. But I need to talk to someone just to try and help.ke understand the process and if its the same as theirs.
I hope I don't offend anyone or speak out of turn but when I saw this site it was like an olive branch.
