Brain tumour diagnosis

Hi there,

move just been diagnosed with a brain tumour last week. I’m reaching out to find others in the same boat. Feeling scared!

  • Hello Jessp

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. It's understandable that you're feeling scared and likely a whole rollercoaster of other emotions.

What information have the specialists given you about your diagnosis and the next steps?

Whilst we have many members here on the forum who will understand the thoughts and feelings that can come with a cancer diagnosis, I wanted to let you know about a specific charity that may be of help to you called The Brain Tumour Charity. They have a lot of information that you may find helpful along with various sources of support.

While you're waiting for your next appointment you're welcome to call our team of nurses to talk things through with them. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Jess and let us know how you're getting on. We'll do our best to support you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jessp

Im so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma 13 months ago. Ive had a craniotomy to debulk the tumour & then had 6 weeks chemo/radiotherapy, then 6 months chemo. I am now on 3 monthly MRI scans, just to keep an eye on the tumour. As suggested by Jenn, the brain cancer charity has lots of useful info & lots of positive stories which, Ive found, have really helped. I hope your treatment goes well.

    Take care
