Hi all, I posted a few weeks ago I had been to one stop shop and was awaiting results. I went back today...
It's def cancer in both lumps.
The big lump is ductal carcinoma, the small lump is part ductal and part lobular.
Because its part lobular I have to have an MRI of both breasts to have a thorough check, not everyone gets an MRI so this is a good thing
It's the most common cancer, easily treated, oestrogen positive.
Treatment will be MRI within 2 weeks, then surgery around 2 weeks after that. The nurse said not to worry if its a little later, nothing at all will change in that time
It's not in the lymph nodes which is also good, plus I went to GP early on
Treatment is lumpectomy, then fill the breast up with some fat from under my arm, they will also take out a couple of nodes to test as standard
Then 5 days continuous of radiology (which only takes a few mins each time apparently)
Then 5 years minimum of tamoxifen drug, which will likely send me into the menopause, hurray!
So all in all seems quite straightforward so far. Thank you for your support and hope everyone is doing OK x
