Were you initially referred to dermatology by your GP and they've now passed you to Plastics? This is the usual route it takes - the dermatologist looks at your mole & decides if it needs to be removed for a biopsy (the only way to diagnose what it is). The dermatologist then passes you to Plastics who explain the procedure and remove the mole (as a day patient at a later date). You then get informed of the results a few weeks later. If you haven't seen a dermatologist it may be that your hospital are using Plastics to look at the mole & make a decision (due to long waiting lists) - many Plastic Surgeons are as well trained as dermatologists for checking moles & making decisions about removals.

i have just had mohs surgery for a malignant melanoma in situ on my ear.

Cheers lyndsay got news by letter to attend appointment to see consultant or one of his team next Thurs didn't give biopsy results if positive do their start treatment at that appoint ment or give you notice  when will their start it got loads of Xmas parties to go to ha thanks again 

When i got my results I had to wait about 8 weeks for mohs surgery. I think it depends on what’s wrong to how long the wait is. I got an urgent referral so didn’t wait too long.
