Hi I'm sorry to hear about your situation ,I hope someone sees your post who has the same diagnosis as yourself  ,hopefully with me replying it will take your post to the top so that more people have a chance to see it and reply ,I hope you find out more so that you can stop worrying so much whilst you wait to see what treatment they have for you .

I’ve just had a mastectomy with immediate reconstruction for my 2nd bc diagnosis for what I thought was an area of dcis.  However the pathology repot showed there was also a small area (5mm) of triple negative (first bc 7 years ago was hormone receptive).  I thought I would be told that I would now need chemo to mop up any rogue cells but due to the small size they are not recommending any.  

I just want to reassure you that a triple negative diagnosis is not as bad as it used to be - my consultant was very clear about that and said that treatments have come a long way over the last few years.  From what I have read, many women continue to lead healthy lives for many years after treatment for triple negative bc.

I agree that you should stay away from Dr Google as the information is very often out of date.

i genuinely feel so terrified and lost. I have a daughter and im just not ready to leave her. Im terrified of the scans and what they may show and how I’ll cope with that.

I hope you don’t have to wait too long for the results of other tests (waiting is so hard and your mind goes into overdrive).  Once you have the results and a treatment plan in place, I am sure you will begin to feel more positive as you’ll be doing something to get rid of it.  I think there was another thread on here with sone ladies who are currently having treatment for triple negative - it might be worth jumping on their thread to ask them about their treatments?

I’m just terrified they’ll see the scans and nothing can be done to help. 

I will try and have a look for it.

How do you stay so strong and positive? I started of my day ok and now the anxiety has floored me. I’m genuinely so scared of everything and thinking the worst case scenario.

 My anxiety seems to be winning at the moment!

As Em2023 has said there are lots of treatments and positive stories!

I am nearly half way through chemo and nearly everyday starts with tears and then a few more!

But I’m thinking of you and all others struggling with this.

By taking each phase as a chapter in a book believe it or not and for each treatment and surgery I have my kids and I close that chapter. It sounds daft but cancer is a word and not a sentence and everyone’s journey is completely different. Triple Negative Breast Cancer is scary but it’s not the end of your story far from it. You take this head on like you would any other life challenge and everyone on the ward the cancer team and on here will support you every step of the way.
